School Meals

Important Update about Free School Meals - Summer 2026
  • Free School Meal (FSM) eligibility has changed. Due to these changes all parents and carers must reapply for FSMs over the 2026 summer term.
  • Many families who have not previously been eligible may now qualify for Free School Meals and additional support. We strongly encourage you to check if they are eligible for FSM.
  • By asking every parent and carer to check if they are eligible and, if so, apply for FSM, we can ensure that all eligible children receive the funding and support available to them.
  • The process is quick and completely confidential.

We are a ‘nut free school’!

This is because there are some members of our school community who have a severe nut allergy so we ask all staff, pupils and visitors to please not bring any nuts, or products containing nuts, into the site.  Thank you for your cooperation on this matter.

School Dinners Menu

Our caterers take pride in offering a varied menu and also regularly offer theme days for our children. We are currently running a 3 weekly menu, please see below for more details:

Spring 2026 – Summer 2026

Download the new menu as a .pdf (starting after the 2026 Easter holidays)

Since Easter 2023, the price for a tasty and nutritious hot lunch is £3 per day, and we ask parents and carers to pay using the Arbor system.

Free School Meals and the Pupil Premium

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are automatically eligible to receive free school meals. In addition, families who are in receipt of one certain income-related benefits may be entitled to free school meals for their children, or to other assistance.

The Pupil Premium Grant is a sum of money allocated to schools to ensure that all children have an equal chance to succeed in schools. An amount is allocated for children eligible for free school meals, who are from service families and those that are in, or have been in, Local Authority Care.

Visit the CYC website to find out more

You can apply online for this funding, and all claims are treated in confidence, with the same meals provided to all children whether they are paid for or provided free. Your child does not have to take up a meal every day, or even at all.

We would strongly encourage any families who think they may be entitled to this support to apply – including if your child is in Acorn Class and is entitled to a meal under the universal infant free school meal initiative. The more children registered for free school meals, the more pupil premium… and the more funding available to ensure that these children make good progress.
