Rec/Y1 weekly news…

Reception

In phonics this week we have been learning the letter sounds t, p & i. Can you write these letter sounds in the air? Maybe you could sing our songs we have learned and teach your family!

In Literacy we have begun our ‘News Books’. Every Monday we talk about our weekend and draw a picture showing what we got up to. We also try to write some letter sounds that would match our picture.

In Maths we have been practising our 1:1 correspondence when counting objects and have been recognising numbers up to 10 and 20.

We have also been drawing pictures on the computer using ‘Tizzy’s Tools’. We drew pictures of the three little pigs and the big bad wolf!

In Literacy we have been continuing our to focus on The Three Little Pigs story. We designed story maps to help remember the main events. We have also been looking at adjectives to describe the pigs and wolf. On Thursday we used our story maps and knowledge of the story to retell the traditional tale in front of the class. You all did a fantastic job! Can you retell the story to your family?
