We have three classes in Naburn School, with aged from children from four to eleven.  Different ages often work together in the Foundation subjects, with extra challenges or support to provide differentiation.  This has the advantage of allowing children to work at a level appropriate to their needs, rather than as prescribed by their year group whilst the staff work extra hard to ensure that all our children experience the full curriculum over their time here at Naburn and that every pupil is challenged to achieve their full potential.  One real strength that our small size brings us is the learning and social relationships that form between children of different ages.  A brilliant example of this is our Year 6 ‘buddies’ who each take responsibility for supporting a new child from the reception class.  Children from both year groups particularly enjoy their paired reading sessions!
